Singapore-based June Yap, Guggenheim UBS MAP Curator, South and Southeast Asia, looks back on her participation in the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative. Yap discusses how organizing an exhibition with the Guggenheim and other global institutions—in addition to working side-by-side with artists—expanded her worldview and allowed her to present the region’s art to new audiences, also increasing the number of South and Southeast Asian artists represented in the museum’s permanent collection.
