New York-based artist collective Type A, consisting of Adam Ames and Andrew Bordwin, employs a variety of media to create artwork that playfully explores the nature of collaboration and competition. Working together since 1998, their work looks closely at tensions inherent to these interactions. This documentary showcases their work by examining their relationship as both friends and collaborators, and how their humor and thoughtfulness shape their approach to art. Featured is Type A’s project developed for 100 Acres: The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park that explores the meaning of teamwork with IMA staffers as they interact in a variety of engaging (and harrowing) exercises.
They should be called Type E for Egomaniacs.
