Henry Rollins links humanity to the Blues.

Henry Rollins is an American spoken word artist, writer, journalist, publisher, actor, radio DJ, activist and former singer-songwriter of Black Flag.

In his Blues for Smoke interview, Rollins personifies the Blues by focusing on the heartbeat and life rhythm of the art.  "The Blues is heartbeat music...it is human music," states Rollins.   He helps to situate the emotional context of the Blues by delving into the psychological well and the human wail of the Blues.
