Curating for #mocatvupload, Ethel Seno of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles selects submissions from two seasoned street artists who for years have directly engaged audiences across the globe. On a mission to Cambodia to evangelize for skate culture, the Belgian artist ROA paints native insects and animals, reclaiming a jungle ruin with an oversized centipede, guiding children home after dark with a phosphorescent firefly. In her hometown of Johannesburg, Faith47 takes excerpts from the national Freedom Charter and pastes them in impoverished neighborhoods, their poetic optimism drying up like a raisin in the sun. With these emblems of local culture manifested in public, the work helps audiences recognize their importance.

These videos were selected as part of a call to action from MOCAtv to graffiti and street artists and supporters around the world to upload videos showing the freshest art in public spaces. From March 25 to June 30, 2013, MOCAtv received over 120 submissions from China to Brazil to South Africa to Australia.
