In this video, Margaret Cogswell talks about her process creating Hudson River Fugues, an installation featured in the Tang group exhibition Lives of the Hudson. Lives of the Hudson explored the long history of one of America’s greatest rivers. Along with important works by Hudson River School painters, the exhibition presented objects of material culture, science, and contemporary art. Focused on the last two hundred years, Lives of the Hudson presented an intersection of contrasting and varied stories—environmental, historical, and individual—whose journeys all lead back to the Hudson itself.
