The 100-foot-tall tulip tree—the state tree of Indiana—was found in a forest near Anderson, Indiana, and transported to 100 Acres with a large portion of its limbs intact. The design for Chop Stick revolves around the architects' ambition to harvest a material as gently and thoughtfully as possible. architectural design Architecture Nature visiondivision Materials and Process Indianapolis Museum of Art http://artbabble.org/sites/default/files/bvideos/3d/3d4511dc227b6db8/poster-image-06.jpg 3d4511dc227b6db8 Mon, 23 Jul 2012 21:03:54 +0000 dbeyer 9561 at http://artbabble.org visiondivision http://artbabble.org/video/ima/visiondivision <div class="field field-type-nodereference field-field-institution"> <div class="field-label">Institution:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/partner/indianapolis-museum-art">Indianapolis Museum of Art</a> </div> </div> </div> Visiondivision is a Stockholm-based architecture firm founded in 2005 by Anders Berensson and Ulf Mejergren. This masterpiece from the Gallery’s collection is an impressive example of a Dutch landscape painting, which was painted by the artist in the 17th century. The artist specialized in painting the countryside, carefully observing nature to capture the colors and textures of the earth, trees, and plants. But even though this forest scene looks realistic, it does not depict an actual location in the Dutch countryside.</p> <p><a href="http://artbabble.org/video/ngadc/forest-scene-c-1655-jacob-van-ruisdael" target="_blank">read more</a></p> http://artbabble.org/video/ngadc/forest-scene-c-1655-jacob-van-ruisdael#comments European Painting For Kids Jacob van Ruisdael Landscape Painting Nature Painting Learning to Look National Gallery of Art, Washington http://artbabble.org/sites/default/files/bvideos/83/83a0151a2cef30ae/poster-image-03.jpg 83a0151a2cef30ae Tue, 18 Oct 2011 19:00:30 +0000 s-sarraf 8827 at http://artbabble.org "The Voyage of Life," 1842, Thomas Cole http://artbabble.org/video/ngadc/voyage-life-1842-thomas-cole <div class="field field-type-nodereference field-field-series"> <div class="field-label">Series:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/series/childrens-video-tour-time-travel">Children&#039;s Video Tour-Time Travel</a> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-nodereference field-field-institution"> <div class="field-label">Institution:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/partner/national-gallery-art-washington">National Gallery of Art, Washington</a> </div> </div> </div> <p>In this video from the Children’s Video Tour, kids can learn more about four paintings by American artist Thomas Cole, which depict the artist’s vision of the journey through life, from birth to old age.
