San Francisco-based Joe Goode Performance Group (JGPG), known for melding dance with theater, performs Wonderboy, a recent work created by artistic director Joe Goode in collaboration with puppeteer Basil Twist, with music by singer/violinist Carla Kihlstedt and pianist/drummer Matthias Bossi. Wonderboy is an unexpected tale of a peculiar superhero isolated by his gift of sensitivity. JGPG also performs 29 Effeminate Gestures, a signature 12-minute dance solo masterpiece. The performance is audio-described by Indianapolis artist Dante Ventresca, for the visually impaired and anyone who wants help interpreting contemporary performance art. Presented by IMA, International Theatre Indianapolis and Butler University, with support from the Christel DeHaan Family Foundation.
