In October 2008, we explore our own backyard, finding electrifying work from San Francisco locals at Ratio 3 and Gallery 16.

Ratio 3's A MOMENT FOR REFLECTION: NEW WORK BY LYDIA FONG features paintings, kinetic sculptures and multimedia works by Lydia Fong, the alter ego of local artist Barry McGee, who has been highly influential in both art and design.

Gallery 16's fifteenth anniversary show, THESE ARE THE PEOPLE IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, takes a look back at the dozens of artists who helped define the gallery as a place of radical ideas and community.
