Inhotim was initially designed by landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx (1909-1994). It’s a huge park where art and nature coexist. Rist was asked to present her Venice piece in a newly designed house, but she proposed to dig a hole into a mountain instead.
The exhibition in the MoMA in New York was from November 19th 2008 until February 2nd 2009. It was organized by Klaus Biesenbach, Chief Curator, Department of Media.

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen was built in 1935 by Ir. A. van der Steur. In 1964 it was enlarged with a series of new rooms designed by the Dutch-Hungarian architect Alexander Bodon.
