Cowboy Poetry at the Blanton with Joel Nelson
A native Texan, Joel Nelson is one of today's most well-respected cowboy poets. The Blanton Museum of Art hosted a special lecture and poetry reading by Nelson on April 19, 2012 in conjunction with the museum's Go West! Representations of the American Frontier exhibition. In this video captured in the Blanton's auditorium, Nelson recites poems from his Grammy-nominated CD "The Breaker in the Pen."
