French-Swiss Emmanuel Pahud (b. 1970) has appeared as soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras including London Philharmonic, Zurich Tonhalle and Washington National Symphony. In 1992 he joined the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
Pahud has lived in Switzerland, Italy, France and Berlin. From the age of 4 to the age of 22, Emmanuel Pahud was tutored and mentored by flautists such as François Binet, Carlos Bruneel and Aurèle Nicolet. He has collaborated with conductors such as Abbado, Rattle, Zinman, Maazel, Gergiev, Gardiner, Harding, Järvi, Rostropovich and Perlman.
