Internationally recognised as one of the most important Italian artists of his generation, in 2013 Francesco Vezzoli will feature in three solo shows in international museums.

 

The series begins in Rome with MAXXI hosting the exhibition Galleria Vezzoli, the first Italian retrospective devoted to the artist. Ninety works presenting Francesco Vezzoli from the earliest works, the embroideries from 1995, through to the most recent videos, self-portraits and sculptures. The title of the exhibition is inspired with levity and irony, by the great galleries of Rome, and evokes the sumptuous atmosphere of the museums of the past.
