Artist Chris Johanson introduces Peter Ivers's "New Wave Theatre," a television program broadcast locally in Los Angeles during the early 1980s. To Johanson, "New Wave Theatre" was an influential conduit of information about punk and new wave music and culture, watching it was "like going to philosophy class." "New Wave Theatre" pushed the boundaries of improvisation and performance, and Johanson considers Ivers to be one of his most impactful teachers.
