This is the first review that takes place in Mexico of Matt Mullican’s artistic career. The exhibition includes more than 60 works among drawings, video, installation and notebooks that cover his four decades of production. Matt Mullican’s work questions the canons of the representations of both reality and fiction. For Mullican the phrase “that world” refers to the constitution of the exterior world as perceived from the subjective point of view of each different person. He makes allusion to that world through his cosmologies which unfold a range of patterns, colors and signs, over maps, flags, virtual cities and architectural typologies. For Matt Mullican the reality has several aspects, so the world around us can be explained in multiple ways.
