This spring, an extraordinary sculpture by internationally acclaimed artist Roxy Paine was installed in the Kansas City Sculpture Park. The 56-foot sculpture, called Ferment, is a stainless-steel branching structure that sits majestically on a hill south of the Bloch Building. Paine is considered one of the most important young sculptors of today. His celebrated sculptures are comprised of shining pipes, plates and rods that have been cut, bent and welded into branchlike structures.
