Thomas Rentmeister combines art and life in his work. He uses every day objects as building blocks for his work while stylistically referring to Minimalism. For Rentmeister, there is an absurd logic in combining refrigerators with Penaten baby cream. First of all, both the fridges and the cream are metallic, since the cream contains zinc. Furthermore, there is a suggestion of various odours as fridges are known to have their own stale smell and the smell of baby cream instantly calls to mind the smell of baby poop as well.
