Carlos Motta characterizes the two main strands of his work as being concerned with, on the one hand, a conventional exhibition context and, on the other, with instigating and problematizing social situations. He also discusses his overarching interest in critiquing historical narrative, and goes on to describe works from his SOA Cycle / Democracy Cycle series, including Memory of a Protest, The Good Life, Six Acts, and We Who Feel Differently, as well as a previous iteration of his collection artwork.
