This video documents Carry the Curator, the artist’s special performance that took place on opening night of the exhibition Erwin Wurm: Euclidean Exercises in the IMA’s Efroymson Family Entrance Pavilion. Wurm first “carries” the curator of the exhibition as a way to thank her, both sincerely and irreverently. He then invites the audience to also express their appreciation for her work. Each volunteer chooses a new way to carry the curator, holding the pose for several seconds as requested by the artist. In doing so, each “carrier” and the curator together become a living sculpture for the length of the pose.
