MOCA's Engagement Party was a platform for Southern California--based artist collectives to create socially based artworks by interacting with the museum and the public in unexpected ways. Challenging the convention of the museum as a collecting institution, Engagement Party presented a total of 32 interactive performances by Finishing School, Knifeandfork, OJO, Slanguage, My Barbarian, Lucky Dragons, Ryan Heffington + The East Siders, The League of Imaginary Scientists, Neighborhood Public Radio, Los Angeles Urban Rangers, Liz Glynn, and CamLab.
