Artist Amalia Pica talks about the conception, execution, and reception of her work, Asamble, as it was performed in the context of the exhibition Under the Same Sun: Art from Latin America Today at the South London Gallery (June 10–September 4, 2016). Pica comments on the work’s inherently diverse and participatory nature, focusing in particular on its creation of a temporary community made up of local residents and others.
