The artists discuss the evolution of Latent Images, Diary of a Photographer, 177 Days of Performance, from daily photography to chronicle the effects of the civil war in Lebanon, through the creation of a “timeline” of 354 artist books for a performance at the 2015 Venice Biennale. They describe their fictional photographer, Abdallah Farah, and his process of image destruction, which manifests as the first two parts of their Wonder Beirut project, The Story of a Pyromaniac Photographer and Postcards of War. The third part, Latent Images, emerges from their discovery of the nature of their relationship to photography.
