Raed Yassin discusses the making of “Parallel Gems,” a soundtrack that offers an alternative way to experience the Guggenheim UBS MAP exhibition But a Storm Is Blowing from Paradise: Contemporary Art of the Middle East and North Africa. Yassin talks about working with sound engineer Fadi Tabbal and musicians Paed Conca, Tony Elieh, Stéphane Rives, and Sharif Sehnaoui on the piece, which mixes acoustic and electronic sound and was inspired by curator Sara Raza’s interest in the physical sciences.
