Performance and installation artist Dawn Kasper curates three videos for MOCAtv that illustrate central tensions of her practice: the relationship of art to its inane historian apologists—Jean-Michel Basquiat suffering through awkward and insulting interview questions—the relationship of art to activism—Fugazi protesting the Gulf War in front of the White House—and the relationship of art to the eccentrically everyday—Andy Kaufman inviting his entire Carnegie Hall audience for post-performance milk and cookies.
