MAP artist Minerva Cuevas talks about her work Del Montte—Bananeras (2003/10) in relation to her research into corporations and the effects of their practices on the environment. Cuevas describes the mural element of the work as it appeared at Museo Jumex, comparing it to the graphic works that she has made for public spaces. She also discusses recent work that addresses oil and cocoa production in Mexico, some of which was featured in her Feast and Famine exhibition, and the link between such industries and “cultural cannibalism.” English subtitles are visible via the CC button.
